Anawangin cove, side trip to Capones Island and trekking on Anawangin hills | Pagkalayason

Anawangin is a mountain slope, it has white sandy beach and a clear blue water.

Mount Pundaquit is a 3/9 minor climb in terms of difficulty. It Stands 464 masl. Not bad for beginners like me.

Capones Island is an hour travel from brgy pundaquit. This is also a white sand beach with amazing rock formations and it is surrounded by clear blue water.

Adventure is available during weekends and Holliday’s but there are some travel and tours that considers weekday’s. You have 2 choices to get here, choose whether you do it on your own or get

For us we choose the second option which is to get a promo from travel and tours online. We got the package for 10pax for 1200 each. Got this Cheapest promo upon browsing the net for the nth time.lol

Here’s our itinerary:

 

We set our call time at 2:00Am to avoid the delays. As expected there are late comers but we manage to depart at 3:00AM. After almost 4hours we arrive at the market around 7:00AM. an hour late to the itinerary because the driver got lost. We just ignore the driver we head fast to the market to save time. We buy foods good for two days and get back to the van.

After 30mins if I’m not mistaken, we arrive at guest lobby of the travel and tours that we booked in at Brgy Pundaquit. After the payment we prepared ourselves for the adventure cap, shades, sun block etc. But theres no available boat at that time so we prepare for our lunch. We cooked rice and grilled the bangus we bought earlier in the market. 10:00 am Just after we Finish cooking, they tell us that the boat is ready. So we started to carry thing we need to the boat. We got a gallon of water, fire woods, cooking utensils and tents and yes its all included in the package.

After almost an hour of sea faring we are amazed with Anawangin’s warm welcome. We pause for a while and say Wow!

We jump off the boat and headed to the resort the travel and tours reserved us. They show us the cottage which we will be using. My stomach is warning me that it is already lunch time, so I initiate to clean the table and serve the grilled bangus with seaweed sidings (first time to eat it) and rice. We begin the buddle fight and it satisfied me. By the way the seaweed taste good with tomato :).

After we eat we did not waste our time chatting at the cottage, together with mark and kuya delmor we head fast to the river to take some photos.

A half-day tour at Intramuros with side trip at Luneta Park | Pagkalayason

INTRAMUROS (the walled city)

Being the oldest district in Manila, Intramuros is one of the most visited place in the city nowadays.
Intramuros was erected on the ruins of a Malay settlement at the mouth of the Pasig River. Its strategic location attracted the attention of the conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, who took over the area in 1571 and proclaimed it as the Philippine colony’s new capital.It is a city inside a defensive wall, the wall protected the city from foreign invaders. It is also known as the Walled City, as “intramuros” is a Latin word which means “within the walls”. It was damaged during World War II, was restored and became a National Historical Monument in 1951.

June is the best time to visit Intramuros, it is very timely because June 12 is the independence day of the Philippines. Here’s our  itinerary for a half day tour:

 

ITINERARY

7:00 AM – ETD from pasig

8:00 AM – ETA Intramuros, Manila

8:15 AM – Manila Cathedral

8:30 AM – Palacio Del Governador

8:45 AM – Fort Santiago

10:45 AM – Luneta Park

11:00 AM – Lunch

11:30 AM – ETD Manila

12:30 AM –ETA Pasig

 

How to get there:

Ride bus or a jeepney going to quiapo, From quiapo ride a jeepney to Pier eight then tell the driver t drop you at Manila Cathedral.

Manila Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic basilica located in Manila, Philippines, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary as Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the Principal Patroness of the Philippines. The present Manila Cathedral, situated at the heart of the walled city of Intramuros has gone several major reconstructions since its inception. The Neo-Romanesque-Byzantine cathedral has long been the seat of archbishop in the Philippines. And it continuous to be one of the most admired churches in the country. The Basilica is located at Plaza Roma, Which our walking tour begin, By the way Im with my sister Ann.

 

Few step from the Manila Cathedal is the Palacio Del Govenador that according to my research was once the site of the Royal Residence of the Governor-Generals of the Philippines from 1645 to 1863. The royal residence was transferred to malacanang after an earthquake troppled the building in 1983.

Moving on, we passed General Luna street going to fort Santiago. I spot some ancient building like Philippines National Bank among others.

 

 

8:45 were now here at Fort Santiago’s entrance, by the way the entrance ticket is 50 for student and 75 for adults.

 

I was amaze with the ancient spanish houses at Plaza Moriones and believe me or not there a sudden feeling that made go back to 15th century when you hear the background music.

You can ride a kalesa inside the Fort Santiago. A kalesa is horse-driven carriage. The price is ranging from P200 – P300 per ride.

If you want a ride can look for manong Jose. Actually its not his real name,I just don’t remember his name but he is cool, he told me to post this photo on facebook.

It 10:30  when we reached the last, but not the least, historical site. We saw the prison cell where Dr. Jose P. Rizal started his last walk to martyrdom. His last steps were embedded on the pathway that leads to Bagumbayan, where we was executed.

Honestly we rode a jeepney with barker that is shouting Luneta, Luneta, Luneta. Which was the last stop of our tour.

We ate our Lunch in a nearby restaurant and head back home. There’s a lot more to visit but it is really a fun filled tour indeed.

Let’s do the Adventure!

We young adults has very busy life, not to mention that we do the same thing almost everyday. We wake up, eat,prepare ourselves and go to work. After work, we return home, prepare our dinner, check our social media account then fall asleep. We keep on repeating this pattern except for weekend’s and holidays.

Holidays and weekend’s for me is important because its my rest day. Literally, I sleep early, wake up late, eat my lunch then fall asleep again.

Then one day, I realized some thing and ask myself why I am wasting too much time for sleeping? Im gonna engaged in some fun-filled-activity just for a change.

I wrote this blog to share some of the places I visited, how to get there and what are the things to do to enjoy the rest of the place.
